Animalius Outpatient Elbow Package – CT

Animalius is pleased to offer an Outpatient Elbow CT package for young, large breed dogs. The
aim is to be able to provide you with additional diagnostic information that will help you
determine the cause of elbow-related lameness, or rule in/out medial coronoid disease.

What is included in this package?
CT evaluation of both elbow joints under anesthetic.

Who is it for?
Younger, rapidly growing, large breed dogs that have thoracic limb lameness localised to the
elbow region. Previous radiographs may be equivocal, show arthritis or appear normal.
Patients will typically be less than 2 years of age without other health concerns.

How does it work?
Patients spend the day at Animalius and are admitted through the Radiology team. They will
have a short general anaesthesia without IV fluids, for the purposes of evaluating both elbow
joints. Multiplanar reconstructions comparing left to right sides will be provided. An additional
region of interest (e.g. shoulder joints) can be added, if required, for an additional fee. The
patient will be discharged to their owner, who will be directed to make an appointment with
your practice to follow up on these results. If referral to our surgical service is required, we can
help facilitate this (although it may not be on the same day).

Bookings: Contact our Radiology Team directly to discuss and book, or select the Elbow
Package – CT on our online Radiology Referral Form and we will call you back.
